The Smartsuit Pro Rokoko Smartsuit Pro: A convenient, affordable, and easy-to-use tool for motion capture. ![]() This is also a wonderful motion capture resource you can use right now, at an affordable price, before investing in the suit itself. It’s a pretty extensive library that gets quite a bit more detailed and specific than what you’ll find for free on Mixamo. ![]() Inside of Rokoko Studio, there’s an entire library of motion capture animations that you can purchase at extremely reasonable prices. Motion Library is an affordably priced motion capture library inside of Rokoko Studio. This makes it much easier to fine-tune interactions and blocking. This is obviously a huge feature, since you can view your character in the environment that the scene takes place. Rokoko Studio is also able to live-stream your motion capture directly into Blender (and all other major CG software tools, like Cinema 4D and Maya). For a free piece of software, it’s impressively full-featured. Rokoko Studio also has functionality for facial capture using your cellphone and hand motion capture. Studio has lots of different filters and tools that you can use to make sure your character is moving in the way you intended it to. This is also where you can record all of your motion, and clean it up nice and smooth after the fact. When you connect your suit to Rokoko Studio via Wi-Fi, you’ll be able to watch your motion in real-time. Rokoko Studio is your gateway to using motion capture in your projects. Using Rokoko Studio / Motion Library Rokoko Studio is a free tool for recording and cleaning up motion capture. ![]() One more time for those in the back, ALL of this stuff is FREE. Rokoko Studio comes pre-loaded with a few example scenes you can try out. If you don’t want to use Mixamo animations, or you want to get a feel for the entire process so you know how to use the Rokoko suit before you get one, you can also download Rokoko Studio for free. Once you have your characters and animation files, you can just head into Blender and use the Rokoko Blender plug-in to switch between animations and re-target your animations from one armature to another. I know Kinect and other camera solutions exist, but the movement is limited and I want the ability to use it in different places/sets/activites in order to have mocap freedom.Mixamo allows you to rig your characters, and includes loads of free characters and animations. Also annoyed that most of these seem very overpriced for what they are in addition to selling them in sized suits so that I'd need another suit if I want to mocap friends/family. Haptics and biometrics are no where on my wishlist. I like systems that you can add to or purchase in stages. I'm super interested in whether the PrioVR DevKit can function as a poorman's Rokoko, but reviews, examples of pointclouds or mentions are pretty low to non-existent. Here's a list of products I've found so far in the interwebs: Inertial mocap is where I want to be, but I'm a lone creator in NH that basically wants to play around with creating my own stupid characters/show to decompress at the end of the day instead of gaming or netflix.
